Kylea is 10 months old!

Kylea, you are 10 months old!!

 WOW!! Hard to believe you've been with us for 2 months! Time has just flown by!! You are such a funny, hard headed kid! We laugh at you one minute, and wanna pull our hair out the next!! You are so determined and I know you will be successful at whatever you do, because you do NOT give up easily...This may cause problems for us later when you are in high school, but right now we just sit back and watch!!

We think you weigh around 23 lbs and are 28 inches long. You are in 12-18 clothing(12 month for length, 18 for weight :), size 3 shoes and size 4 diapers. You take 2 naps a day, both around 1 1/2. You go to bed around 7:30 every night and sleep until 7:30 a.m., except when we have to wake you up during the week. I started back to work last week and you've done great. You are going to 2 baby sitters, Miss Cindy & Miss Linda. You are with Delaney at Miss Cindy's twice a week, and are at Linda's the other 3. You are still adjusting at Cindy's, but have done wonderfully at Linda's with napping and playing. You really really love her and you both are extremely attached already ;) I am sooooo glad!!

You take around 25 oz of formula daily and eat 3 meals and an afternoon snack. You like any kind of fruit/oatmeal blend for breakfast, a meat & veggie for lunch, avocado & yogurt for a snack, and a meat & veggie for dinner. You've started batting the spoon away when we feed you...which is very aggravating!! We think it is because you are trying to be independent, not that you are full :) You watch Delaney feed herself and we think you are wanting to be like her. You can eat a lot of foods if we break them into pieces. We try to do this too so that you can feed yourself.

You are VERY mobile!! You are walking all over the place while holding onto whatever you can grab. I know one day you'll just let go and go for it. You can stand alone for quite a while, and even bend down and pick something up and stand right back up without holding on to anything. You are seriously the strongest kid I've ever seen...we call you Babyzilla or as Gigi named you; Kyzilla!! You are very loud and determined to get your point across and even your way. You and Delaney fight quite a bit and you are not one to back down! Right now she pushes you and takes toys away, but I know it is only a matter of time before you are getting her back!!

 You can say a few words and constantly chattter. We have heard you say Mama, Dada, hat, bye-bye, and "dat", which I think is the start of "What's that?" You say it when you are looking at things. You can wave, and we are working on clapping. You are a climber and are always into everything!! You are very inquisitive and like to figure out how things work. One of your favorite things to do is ride on the Minnie Mouse 4 wheeler. You love any kind of riding toy! You also like to throw things! HA :) You are into anything that Delaney is playing with! You love baths, but hate getting out and getting dressed. It is very hard to change your diaper and put clothes on you...and you do not like getting put in your car seat!! SHEW!! But you are usually pretty easy going in the car once you are in.

 We are so excited about celebrating Christmas this year with 2 sweet baby girls! I am already starting to shop and can't wait to see you open presents. You are one feisty little girl and we are so blessed to be your parents!! We love you!!

9 months, Boo at the Zoo & Baby Dedication :)

I'm cramming a lot of stuff into one post, but I just can't seem to find the time to blog anymore!! 2 kids will do that to ya!! Kylea was 9 months old on the 18th!

 We took her for her 9 month well visit and she weighed 22 lbs 13 oz and is 27 3/4 inches long. She is in the 95th % for weight and between 50-75th for height. The doctor said she is ahead developmentally and should be walking well before her 1st birthday!! She is in mainly 18 month clothing, a size 3 shoe, and size 4 diaper. She is eating all baby foods and we have introduced some table foods. She is definitely not picky.

 She takes about 20-25 oz of formula a day and takes 2 really good naps. She usually goes to bed around 7:45 and sleeps till around 7:30 in the morning. She has really become an easy, laid back baby. She is almost always happy as long as she can get down and move. She is always babbling and into everything! She is already a climber! YIKES :)

She can almost stand alone and is cruising furniture and walking behind push toys. She loves her sister so much and is constantly trying to keep up with her! We are looking forward to the holidays with both of these precious little girls!!

We were so excited to have my sweet mommy come stay with us last week! I absolutely love when she's here...I never want her to leave! We have so much fun together. On Saturday, we took the girls to Boo at the Zoo! They looked so cute all dressed up!

Sunday was Kylea's baby dedication at church. We were going to let her wear the same dress Delaney wore last year, but that didn't quite fit...They actually weigh exactly the same right now...to the ounce...22 lbs 13 oz!! Hilarious!!! So, needless to say, D's 6-9 month dress from last October was a tad snug on Kylea, so Gigi was kind enough to get her another one. She looked so sweet :)

8 months

Kylea, you are 8 months old!! We are so incredibly blessed to have you in our family :) What an amazing story...your daddy and I have adopted biological sisters! The Lord had a great plan for you and Delaney and we are so glad we are part of it!! We gained custody of you on September 14, and you were 8 months on September 18. Obviously we've only gotten to know you the past few days, but here is what we know about you already...

You are a great eater!! You will eat all kinds of fruits and veggies, yogurt, and some table food. We haven't introduced meats yet. You take a bottle about 4 times a day anywhere between 4-5 oz. You can hold your own bottle which is great for car rides!!

We think you weigh around 22 lbs and we aren't sure on length. You are wearing 12-18 month clothes, a size 4 diaper, and between a 2 1/2-3 size shoe. You have just the slightest bit of hair on your head :) You love bath time and meal time!! You didn't like the car very much at first but you've done pretty well. You either fall asleep or watch Delaney intently!!

 Your sleep schedule varies, but right now we are putting you to bed around 8:30 and you wake up about 6, but go back to sleep until 8 or 9 in our bed! You have slept the past 3 nights all night in your pack n play!! YIPPEE :) We are hoping to transition you to your crib very soon. We just wanted to take it slow so you didn't feel anxious. You aren't the best napper right now. You would rather me hold you instead of sleeping in your pack n play. It looks like you will take a short nap in the morning, and a longer one in the afternoon.

You love watching Hank & Delaney and I can tell that you all will be best buddies. You are already pulling up and crawling and starting to cruise furniture. You can pick up small pieces of food and feed yourself, and also hold a sippy cup! You babble all the time! You have such a sweet raspy voice ;) You like listening to music and watching the world around you. You seem like a pretty laid back kid. Right now though, you are 100 % attached to me(which is a huge plus!!), but it makes it hard for me to leave the room. You have opened up to lots of people though :)

Last night Tanya brought dinner over and we got to visit with her and Harrison. After that your Auntie Amanda stopped by! She couldn't wait to squeeze you!! She loves her girls :)

 Today you got to meet your Pop!!! He was smitten from the first glance :) He loves his grandgirls! You are so blessed to have lots of loving grandparents who are going to spoil you rotten!

 You remind me a lot of Delaney in some ways, but are also very different! I compared your and Delaney's 8 month pics and I do see some similarities. You definitely look like sisters!!

We can't wait to see how you grow and change in the coming months!!
