A little photo shoot :)

The other day I decided to do a little photo shoot of my girl. Like she doesn't have enough pictures taken of her?? :) I thought it would be cute to prop her up on her Boppy pillow and to use the stool with her name on it in the pictures. I think they turned out really cute. And what would pictures of Delaney be if they didn't include Hank, right?? He was constantly trying to get in the way!!

Such a sweet little face :)

Busy weekend

We had a very busy weekend!! We had a dinner for some newly weds, a wedding shower, and a funeral. We stayed on the go all weekend.

Friday night we went to a dinner honoring Jeremy & Rachel, a sweet couple who just got married from our church. It was at their brothers house and it was beautiful!! We had nice weather too.

Sweet Jaylynn holding Delaney :)

Meredith, the happy couples sister in law :)

Sweet Lola!!
After that we went to Allen's softball game. We have two men's teams from church and they were playing each other. It was the "rivalry" game :) HA! We had a great time cheering on both teams!!

Saturday morning Allen went fishing and I cleaned up the house a little. When he got home we grabbed some lunch and ran to Babies r us to get a few things.

Love how happy she always is :)

I love this outfit too!! And the hair bow ;)

Sleeping peacefully at lunch

Saturday evening we went on a "date" with Delaney to Outback. Some sweet friends had given us a gift card we hadn't used yet. When we got home we took our nightly walk around the neighborhood. We have such awesome neighbors and I love our subdivision. It is perfect for walks. There is very little traffic so we usually have the whole road to walk on. I can't imagine living anywhere else. We always end up chatting with several neighbors along the way. Here are a few of those sweet neighbors...

Carol (her husband Joel was inside), and a sweet family that lives across from us!! Their kids are so cute and adorable!! They love Delaney and Hank!!

Sunday we got up and went to church. Delaney was so good the entire service. We didn't have to leave once. She was very alert during Sunday School and everyone was just amazed because she is so little. She is such a blessing. It's great to have her in SS with us for now because when we start talking about answered prayers and God's faithfulness, everyone can just glance our way and look at this precious miracle and know God is true to His word!!

Not happy about being in her car seat. I love this outfit though!!!

Chilling on the way to church.
After church Delaney & I went to a wedding shower for our youth pastor's daughter Katlyn. It was a wonderful time and I loved all the decorations. She got lots of stuff too!! Of course, Delaney was passed around the room the entire time. She was a pretty good sport.

Such cute table decorations!!

Our missions pastor passed away this weekend after battling cancer for about 2 years. His memorial service was so sweet. We are praying for his family during this very difficult time. He has a very big family and it was so neat to see how at peace they were. They knew he was no longer in pain and that he was dancing the streets of heaven with Jesus. It's a pretty amazing sight to think about!!

Sunday afternoon nap with my girl!

My friend Lauren & Delaney at church
Needless to say we were pretty exhausted Monday!! We did have a few errands to run but mainly we just relaxed. I think Delaney slept 3 straight hours yesterday afternoon!! She has been going 6 hours at night. I can't wait to start her on avocado at 4 months old :) That's what we are going to start with instead of cereal. Hopefully it will get her sleeping through the night!

Playing on her play mat while we make dinner

She is getting so good at holding and grabbing things! We are impressed with our little girl!!

Date Night

Wednesday night Allen & I went on our very first date since Delaney was born :) We have been away from her a few times for court and I've left her for school stuff, but we hadn't left her while we were together doing something. My sweet mother in law offered to watch her while we went to dinner and a movie.

We have wanted to see The Hunger Games since it came out in March. Obviously, having a baby was a bit more important to us, and we just didn't feel like leaving her just yet to go out alone :) Now, let me clarify, we go out ALL the time. Delaney comes with us. And for the most part, that is how it will be. She loves going and we love having her with us. I do think it is important to have time with just you and your spouse though. It doesn't make it any easier to leave her though :)

Allen read all 3 Hunger Games books in like 2 weeks. I might add that my husband DOES NOT READ...like ever. These books got him good though and he just couldn't put them down. I was anxious to see how he would react to the movie since this was the first time he would experience "The book is better than the movie :)"

We left Delaney with my sweet mother in law and headed to eat. We didn't go anywhere fancy (Salsaritas) because the movie started so early. While we were eating we got this picture from Diane (MIL)
I mean, seriously?? So sweet...Made me miss her instantly!!

We even splurged and got a popcorn and drink!!

While we were at the movie, Delaney was having an awesome time with Nana :)

We enjoyed the movie a lot. It was so funny to watch Allen's expression when things didn't line up with the book. Now he knows what I've been talking about all these years HA!! He did like the movie though. It was very nice to get away even if it was just for a few hours :)

We arrived back to get Delaney and she was sound asleep in her cradle, all bathed smelling so nice, with nice relaxing music playing. I told Diane it was like she went to a spa!! HA :) Maybe next time I'll just stay with her and get the spa treatment too ;)

We had another "tiny" milestone last night. We moved Delaney into 3 month sleepers. She has been wearing some 3 month outfits, but we still had her in 0-3 month sleepers. She still fits in them, but it's getting a tad snug :)

My BIG girl :)

We just love this little girl to pieces. Every morning when I wake up I think about how blessed I am. I love that God had this incredible plan and that He needed me to just wait and trust HIM. When I look at our beautiful daughter I truly thank HIM for what we went through. She is the most adorable baby ever and I couldn't imagine anything sweeter.

For all of you out there "waiting" on something, a baby, a husband, a job offer, or anything else, just know God is in control and He will amaze you. Trust me :)

What's new around here :)

I have just felt the need to blog today..don't really have tons of new/interesting pictures or anything exciting to tell, but just wanted to post a bit! HA :) Maybe it's because I've been looking at Kelly's Korner links about new moms so I have been reading others blogs, .hmm!! Anyway, here is what's new with us!!

I think we finally have Delaney's nursery finished except for curtains!!(which at this point, I don't even care if we have curtains ;) HA!!

I was so excited to order this wall quote!! I have known for a while now that this scripture would be displayed in our child's nursery because of all the trouble we had trying to have a baby. When it arrived and we began to put it on the wall it completely fell apart..I mean like the letters would not stick etc... So, with very careful precision and patience we got it all to stick. It doesn't look perfect up close, and I did email the seller and complain (they gave us a refund), but it will do I suppose. If I find a better one we may replace it.

I am almost embarrassed to post these pictures of her closet. I mean, seriously...does she have enough clothes?? I can't even squeeze anymore in it is so tight. I got lots of 6-9 months and some 12 months clothes from a friend and my sister in law, so she even has clothes for fall/winter. I have packed away her newborn clothes(tears...:( and we still are packed full!! I want to buy her new clothes too, but clearly she doesn't need ANYTHING!!
My old toybox with some things that don't have a "place" yet in the nursery, so they are sitting here :)

LOVE THIS!! My sister in law's mom got this stool for Delaney. The letters come out like a puzzle!!

Tuesday afternoon we made a little visit to the NICU where Delaney stayed for 10 days. All of the nurses there were awesome, but we were especially close to Nurse Brenda. She was the first person we met the day we got there, and she was SOOO helpful and sweet. I have sent her pics occasionally and she has been so amazed at how well Delaney has done. She was so excited to see her and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. She looked at me and Delaney and said, "This was definitely God ordained, wasn't it?" I couldn't agree more!!

After that we went up to school for a little get together with some of the teachers. This is my sweet friend Shelly that I used to teach with in 3rd grade.

Listening to Mommy read me a bedtime story :)

A good place to take a nap :)
I had to share these with those who hadn't seen them. I am doing a monthly book for Delaney from Shutterfly. They are so easy and I have barely paid anything for them because I keep getting coupons :) I sort of document things we've done, as well as her monthly pics and stats. It's nice to have these hardback books to keep up with ..much easier than a baby book. I can take them with me and show them to people and I LOVE making them!!

Ignore the glare from the flash, but here is the collage I put together from our pics we had done. I am so happy with how they turned out and think it will be a wonderful addition to our living room!

Sleeping beauty ...

And just because he doesn't get enough pics on here anymore, here is my first baby, Hank!! Love him!!
