School Baby Shower

On Thursday we had our baby shower at school. These ladies worked so hard and everyone who came out was so sweet. It was the first day of TCAPS so I know everyone was stressed and I really appreciated people taking time to make our day special. We got SOOO much stuff and I had such a good time. Delaney was so sweet and just smiled at everyone!! I am so blessed to work with such a wonderful group of people! Between our families, our church family, and our school family we feel so loved!! Here are some pics from our fun day!!

One of the sweet 3rd grade teachers I worked with a few years ago. She prayed for us for so long and she just loves Delaney so much!!

Each table had a frame with a sweet saying typed on scrapbook paper and a purple flower in a mason jar! So cute and such a great idea!!

On Friday I went to school to eat lunch with my class. I haven't been back to visit since Delaney was born... 11 weeks!! CRAZY!! April, my substitute, has done an incredible job with the kids and the classroom. I love how she has changed things around :) It was soooooo good to see my kiddos. Their little faces lit up when I walked into the room :) I heard "MRS. GOINS!!!" and it made me miss teaching. I am so glad that I still have the passion and desire to teach. This means when August rolls around, even though it will be so hard to leave my baby girl, I will at least be excited to go back to the classroom!

I have to be honest..I have never eaten with my classes. We have a duty free lunch and I take it pretty seriously..I mean it is the only time of day where us teachers can relax away from the kids. So, going down there and actually eating with my kids the other day was definitely a new experience! HA :) One I don't necessarily want to do again (JK!!) They were so much fun!! Loud, but fun :) They were so excited that I was sitting with them (Can you imagine how many people fought over who was sitting next to me??) One little girl actually forgot to get half her lunch in the line because she was trying to hurry to sit close to me. I felt like a celebrity! Even kids in other classes were screaming my name across the cafeteria. I know the cafeteria monitors hated me being there because I was causing lots of distractions. I am not sure how much my kids ate, but it sure was sweet to visit with them. They told me all about the teeth they had lost, the birthdays I had missed, and the relatives that had died since I'd been out. (This is typical 6&7 year old talk :)

Two of my kids were absent and one moved so I was sad I didn't get to see everyone. I am going back in a few weeks for field day though :) It was so nice to see them!! I know they are in good hands, but I sure do miss them and I will miss seeing how they end the year. In 8 years of teaching I have never had a class where I didn't finish the year with them. I will have to ask April how they all did. I love seeing how much they learn, grow and change over the year!!

While I was there I got a picture with some of my girls!! Amanda was there so we got her in the picture too!!
A sweet friend gave this to me at the shower!! It is Delaney's name but the letters are all from different things like trees, stop lights etc..I have always wanted one that has GOINS, but I am so excited about Delaney's!! I already bought a frame and I am planning on hanging it in her nursery! People are so sweet and thoughtful!!

Friday night we went out to dinner with our friends the Blakney's from church! Then we went to Allen's softball game. I just LOVE this picture of Delaney. She is always smiling now, and I think she is just absolutely beautiful from head to toe!!

Stephen & Delaney ...best buds!!
On Saturday we met my Dad & Gloria for lunch in Sevierville! They couldn't stand to be away from Delaney any longer :)
